Week 4; Post-trial; Noctis

[ For reasons that are probably inexplicable to anyone who hasn't been paying attention to the trial, Sara doesn't really feel like heading back to the hotel just yet. There are at least three different reasons, and none of them are happy ones, so she figures-- well, why not make herself happy in one front?

... Except she's still not looking too happy, even as she nurses a beer at the saloon. A drinking partner would probably be welcome. ]

Believe me, it's not like there's much to talk about beyond "what the hell is wrong with you," when it comes to him. If that's how he deals with being pissed off, who knows what'll come from anything else.

[noct's wasn't convinced this situation could be made more embarrassing...

but yet? sara found a way. his head sink a bit as he brings his own drink to his mouth and just. lets that happen.]

[ It's her own very special talent, you know. But Sara laughs and ruffles his hair, finally lowering her mug. ]

[he believes her, but. you know, that's a dangerous thing to say.]

My roommate killed a guy and let me kill someone else who hadn't done anything and waited two whole weeks to announce it while flirting with me the whole time, so at this exact moment--

[ Her forehead hits the counter. ]

[it's not like he doesn't get it—he frowns a bit, because. yeah, that's kind of a lot to deal with too.

isn't that exactly why he came to check on her in the first place?]

Maybe not. Still think you should avoid head injuries and giving people a reason not trust you, though. [don't give him extra reasons to worry here.]

Only gonna get tougher from here, isn't it.

Yeah, unfortunately... if we get Bandits who don't actually get much of a choice whether to kill or not, I'm not looking forward to the future.

Not... just in that way. In that way too, but in other ways.

[people they like having to kill. people they're even closer to getting killed. more hopeless trials with even more heart-rending executions to follow.

There's got to be a way to stop it.

Kind of like a puzzle. Gotta figure out all the parts and that's... probably the only way we'll be able to find an end.

... Which means we probably need to figure out those roles.

Easier said than done, that's for sure.

You're not kidding. All we ever really got are those shifting roles, and one Coal Miner.
