Week 1, Sunday Evening; Barnham
[ There's been a lot to mull over, with the Sheriff's arrival and those two girls now in jail, a lot of information to take in. Which, for a bracer and an instructor, isn't impossible for Sara, but there was a difference between learning a curriculum or the details of a mission or job request and...
This.
A game where they were being encouraged to kill each other. It's a sick game, definitely, but she's a little more concerned about how the younger ones are handling it-- and just how many of their number have killed before.
For now, she just sighs into her beer mug-- her third, but there's really no point in stopping now. Her mind is still, unfortunately, clear enough.
The saloon's fairly quiet for now, and that's all she needs. ]

[ You're going to drink with her, dammit. ]

...Regardless of my state of sobriety of lack thereof, is that truly something you are most looking forward to, when escaping this ridiculous game?
no subject
[ She's so chipper. ]
Drinking to celebrate a victory with a guy who doesn't look like he can smile without actual effort-- I definitely want to live to see that!
no subject
I--I certainly have no issues with smiling when the situation calls for it...!
no subject
The strongest people are the ones who can smile in any situation. Because they're the ones others look to.
[ Beatrix probably told her that once. ]
no subject
I...see.
[???]
That is... you are certainly more than welcome to believe what you will in regards to...smiling.
no subject
[ She tried. ]

[SORRY SARA]

[ into her beer mug. It sounds so cool and then everyone laughs or isn't inspired at all. WHYYYYY. ]

... Probably!

I am certain you see the hypocrisy in your uncertainty in that very statement.

[ DON'T JUDGE HER. ]
no subject
...Yes, well. Regardless of that situation, I am nonetheless convinced of your teaching credentials.
[Satisfied?]

[ After a pause, she lowers her head a little. ]
... Thanks.
[ It's strange to hear, but maybe because of that... it's also sweet. ]

[He waves a hand, and shifts to get some water to pour into a bowl for Constantine.]
Most importantly of all, we must find a way to prevent any needless bloodshed. Can I count on your assistance in that?
no subject
Well, yeah. I'm not about to roll over for something like this.
no subject
[Though he suspects she knows that, even as he nods thanks for her fetching the bowl.]
It is the others I am far more concerned about.
no subject
[ can she even play bodyguard? Either way, she'll be alert. ]
no subject
[THANKS, SARA]
no subject
[ ... haaaaa. ]
no subject
Indeed. I fear that should one murder be committed... it shall be much easier for future crimes to be committed as well.
